any wing can go to the frame it depends on how you mount it.

the ARP ones look like they cannot. i like how LGs has a smaller width post to mount. The APR ones have a massive mount

I mounted an APR on my old car using a frame mount. It can be done. I also had the capability of raising the rear hatch.

Send a PM to az55 and he can probably get you a couple of pics.

Oyishdog and Wallyman and Falcon run a Kognition wing. You have to cut your rear facia and it mounts to the rear of the frame.

you can sandwich the body between the frame mount and the wing mount and just drill 4 holes for each mount. Then everything is sealed and looks good. ARP wing looks to wide to sit just on the rear fascia as I see it. Farther back you wing sits the better it works.

Check out Blackdog Speed Shop they are in Lincolinshire, they have a couple of different options. It's going to be tough to get one under $2k though. I'd still be learly of the APR wing I've seen several crack on cars run at Road America, it's just not as durable as some of the higher quality wings out there. Talk to Toby or Ray and they will fix you up.

I dont like how it bolts to the trunk, but I guess I can change that. It also looks like its way to forward

forward to much, to low, unknown airfoil design, unknown construction, and the front edge looks weird but it may be the picture. Nothing cheap for something decent that works. I would continue to look for something used. I would not do a big wing on the rear that is working well and leave the front stock. No matter how you cut it it is big bucks to do the car right. You might spent money elsewhere improving the car and not have to spent one huge chuck at one time. JMHO.

This is what happens when you buy a cheap wing.... happened 2 cars in front of me last year at VIR.

Seriously.... the Kognition wing is the only one I know of reasonable priced that works and is tested. Ping Wallyman, Oyishdog, or Falcon for their input.

Corvette West is just a company that makes a cheap C5-R knock-off body kit. Not a track-oriented outfit at all.

wow, that Kog wing is only 1300 bucks...not bad! and I love all the specs given on the site.

what size do you guys usually run? and what AOA? also, does the wing need to be that high? Every GT2 car I see the wing is lower than the height of the roof.

I doesn't have to, but NASA allows the wing to be no more than 8" over the roofline so some run it up high to get it in the cleanest air. I know Jody mounted his a good bit lower than Mac... Mac's car pictured here: http://kognitiondesign.com/chevy.html

Here's Phil's thread all about it HERE

Basically they took a wing with a hump in the middle like the C5 and C6-R and moved it up into clean air. This = bad = wing tore itself off of the mounts.

He rebuilt a new car with a much improved wing setup HERE

EDIT - I should clarify.... Phil's wing wasn't cheap, but the mounting setup wasn't up to the task.
