Default Quarter Master clutch hyd. Lines

I am installing a 7.25 triple disk QM clutch. The hydraulic lines coming off of the release bearing are kinked when routed through the reliefs in the bellhousing/torque tube. I have come up with a few solutions but was wondering what others that has installed this clutch has done.

I've always drilled 2 new holes in the housing so that the lines can come straight through. Actually one of them might go through the OEM hole, and just drill a single hole. Anyway, I definitely drill at least one hole. I'll see if I can find a photo.

I've done this in several cars, and never had a problem because of it.

General info on a 5.5" install here

Just installed the exact same thing last night.
We had to drill a new hole for one of the lines.

Issued solved

To the OP....which car C5 or C6 ????? Makes a difference. I just had some custom lines made for the C5's.....No mods necessary to the bellhousing. Plug and play ...

Thanks to the RaftRacer, Daniel and Todd, my car now has the new 7.25 Quartermaster assembly.
A long night but trouble free install

1st test drive on my part resulted in an immediate stall

Will take some getting used to but this thing now feels like a rocket

If I drill holes can the lines be connected after the torque tube is installed?

Probably since it has a two piece bellhousing.

PM me your #'s......I have lines already built and I could send you some.

You will still have to take the feed line to a hydraulic shop to retain the OEM dry-break valve.

I tried drilling holes as well as custom lines both methods worked. I decided to go with the custom lines. Had some -3 lines made with 45deg end and straight end. Worked great. I have a Tilton master cylinder so the OEM dry break connector was not an issue for my application. Thanks for all the great help it was appreciated.

Installed the 7.25QM in Rx-Ben's C5 yesterday

Ben had some lines made up, no problem using the oe TT holes; I think he got the info from Danny? Russel makes the fitting into the OE master, no need for the stock QD, used a union

had the grind down a 10mm wrench for one of the slave bolts(plate under the slave)

Had some local NASCAR/Stafford Springs Sk/late model racers in the shop, they were drooling over the QM parts
