Default Spec 1 ?

Anyone had any luck with a Spec 1 in a stock power LS6 / C5Z ?
I have a new crate LS6 going in, and I was thinking of trying one. Its a DE car mostly - with occasional street use.
I have a Spec 2 and fidanza in my 2004 GTO - thats been a great set-up with lots of trouble free track miles. But the goat weighs at least 600 # more than the Z, and had 435 vs 365 rwhp or so in the Z...so i am thinking a Spec 1 should be adequate in the Z.
Ill use a fidanza fly.
I already have a Tick / Tilton MC.
any install tips ie shims - no shims ?

You need to measure per the spec you tube video to determine shimming. Good that you have the Tick, you will need it.

Will do on the measurements. thx

Anyone used the Spec 1 ?

bwt..Id probably be content with a new stock LS6 clutch package and would consider going that route if I didn't want to use the fidanza I already have. Im thinking the Spec 1 is not to far off from the stock LS6 clutch - but Im not certain bout that.

i realize there are better clutches out there, but Im on a tight budget.

Other than my inability to shift (in any direction) at anything above 5k rpm w/the stock master, Spec 1 was fine.
If you want my spec 1 and aluminum flywheel combo with about 500 miles on it, I can make you a deal.

I have the Spec 1 with an aluminum flywheel and stock master and have no problems shifting at redline.

The Spec 1 is plenty strong enough for your car. I have one in my race car now. That being said, there are much better options. Spec has suffered from quality issues in the past few years and their customer service is atrocious. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
