Default C5 cage install: Remove battery, PCM, both?

I remember reading years ago that the battery and main PCM (in the fender well) should be disconnected when welding. My car has the fuel tanks pulled so it won't be driving anywhere regardless.

Do I need to pull the battery and/or PCM? Is just unplugging them sufficient?

BJ has done 4 C5Z's in the past several months for us and we didn't disconnect the computer. Just took the battery out.

My car's been welded on a few times w/ the computer in place. Just disconnect the battery and I think you'll be fine.

Whenever I do some welding on a C4/5/6 I always install one of these, just to be on the safe side.

It's a surge protector, for $65 I've spent money in worse ways.
