GTA Monte Carlo to Morph into 2011 Camaro
Right after the SCCA Daytona race this weekend our road race Monte Carlo will be re-bodied with one of the new HOWE Camaro bodies.
The chassis is a HOWE/BEMCO road race type similar to the ASA Delco Series chassis.
The carbureted LS1 makes about 400 HP to the wheels but coupled with the light weight (less than 2500# w/o driver) the car is very quick.
The Jerico 4 speed is a model built in the 80's and has never blown up.
It provides clutchless upshifts and only needs freshening about every three years. The rear end is a winters quick change with a true trac.
Down the road we will replace the LS1 with an LS motor with substantially more go and also go with 16" wheels and tires for SCCA/V8StockCar GT-1. I picked up a Nascar COT wing for her.
The car as it sits just went 1:31 at Road Atlanta with a first time RA driver.
