Default PICS: BEMCO Corvette & LS1 Stock Car @ Daytona SCCA

Some pics from our very successful weekend with CFR SCCA at Daytona. The stock car with Bobby Kennedy driving took first in SPO and first overall defeating some fast GT-1's and SPO's. Bobby set a new class record at 1:57.1 on Sunday. This was a test for the Vette and as we only had one 9" Ford rear end chunk with a 3.40 ratio so we were limited to what we could accomplish. The Vette in Rolex GT trim with about 400 HP to the wheels would be on the rev limiter in Nascar 2 and again on entry to Nascar 4. This meant you had to half throttle down the back straight and through the tri oval. The car handled, braked and drove near flawlessly. Had outstanding acceleration from the Schwanke LS6. (basically a forged, blueprinted T1 motor). The car was so stable on the banking it was actually boring at the gear limited 160 mph. Lap time was 2:03, but we believe will go sub 1:57 with a 2:90-3:00 gear and new rubber instead of left overs from the 24 hr.

Congratulations on finally getting'er on the track.
I know it's been a long time coming and we've enjoyed the pictures of the build.
You should have just put the 27" rears from one of the AGT cars on the back for more top end!

Thanks Locke, actually the conti rears are almost 27" tall. I could have rented a gear pretty cheaply, I just didn't think we would be that far off. I can get a good deal on another nascar chunk, they are impressive pieces.
