New Central NASA Region
Has anyone on the forum joined the new NASA Central region. Their first track event is May 28,29,30 @ MPH in Hastings Neb. I thought about checking them out and supporting the new region....

I got an e-mail from them too. It sounds like there might actually be something closer than 6 hours for me! (Next Season). I looked at the web-site for the track in Hastings...it looks really nice. If you go, please let me know how it is...might be able to make the next one. Hope all is well with you! Do you plan on going to Autobahn in July?

Hey Scott-
Good to hear from you I'm heading to BIR this coming Friday and if all goes well I'll go to Hastings the following week. It's only about a 4+ hr drive to Hasting's and we have a long weekend so I'll have Monday to recoup.
I'm on a fast track to get my TT license as I run in group 3HPDE now and hope to get the go ahead for group 4 in the next 1 or 2 weekends.
The plan is to be in TT with an event or two under my belt before end of the season
Then I'll have time to deside on the Midwest or Central region. Till then it realy doesn't matter what region I run in as I'm not accruing points for year end.
If everything goes as plan I'm looking at....
Hallett in June with Central region looks like that one is a crossover with Rocky Mtn. & Texas.
A non NASA 2 day event at MAM in July.... I like the 2 hr drive
Back to Autobahn in Sept. and Road America in Oct. with the Midwest region.
How about you what tracks are you headed to this summer?
Maybe we can hook up for a few beers some night after a good day at the track

Right now I am looking at the two Autobahn races and the season ending race at Road America. If the budget will allow, I might be able to slip in one of the races with the Central Region. Possibly Hallett or the second race in Hastings. Hastings is about 7 hours for me and Hallett is about 6.5 hours.
What is going on at MAM in July? Is it a non-sanctioned race or an HPDE?

Safety Car
Take BIR out of the picture for us that live in MN, and nothing is close. Over 300 miles to Road America, Blackhawk, MAM. Over 400 to Autobahn, 500 to Gingerman, 600 to Putnam, and 700 to Mid Ohio. Makes Iowa seem almost centrally located.

Gary, I'd love to go.... I gotta get to the track sometime this year, especially to see your car. I think I'll be headed to Chariton that weekend though to help the club. PM me with your event schedule for the year, maybe I'll tag along sometime!

It's always great to see more racers getting out there and hitting the track! Just something to keep in mind, we are offering our NASA contingency plan to anyone in a NASA sanctioned region. The cost of entry is low, and if you're out there winning races the contingency monies do add up quickly!
