Default "Stupid" cotton hoodies..........

you know, the things that you put on your head to keep the "cooties" from your helmet!

Where do you get them so that they don't cost you an arm and a leg - you know - the "Corvette Tax!"

If this is what you mean, I highly recommend CarbonX. Much more comfortable, but not cheap. Try Discovery Parts.

I've got a bunch Nomex material leftover from a project we did for a customer that I think I'll get someone to sew into balaclavas. It's a pretty simple pattern.

They also keep the sweat out of your eyes and are worth every penny. They were about 40 bucks in Nomex years ago. Buy a decent two. Two because every other session you can switch while the other one hangs and dries. Sparco is very long lasting and comfortable. Nothing stupid about them except not wearing them.

Obviously, not a very good one.

Seriously, it was his fabric he sent for us to test with various finishes, and this is what was left over and he didn't want it back.

If you do sew them, ensure that the seam is not a large overlap (ie thick) across the top of the forehead and crown. I have never had issues with my cotton head sock while running TTs, but several weeks ago in a Chump race, I developed one hell of a headache after an hour behind the wheel. After getting out of the car, I had a huge dent running from just above my eyes across the top of my head from the seam of the sock.

I am switching to one of the Discovery Parts balaclava for my next event.
