My GoPro Cameras have even more fur on them to reduce wind noise. Since I shoot car racing, track day and autocross videos I had to start recording my audio seperately with a small stereo digital recorder. When the cameras are mounted on a racecar going 180 mph, the fur doesn't help even a little bit! LOL.

No it does not and even if it did, the automatic gain control in the camera would still run up the audio levels into distortion. This is why I record my audio seperately using a Zoom H1 stereo digital recorder inside a Wind Jacket from TheWindCutter.com.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, I'm looking for a solution too. The OP's fix reminds me of the Muppets.
I like the idea of a separate recorder. seems the only way to really get a quality recording. Besides, nothing beats stereo for dual exhausts.
Has anyone rigged a fix that seem satisfactory?
