Default Hot tire pressures

Went to Spring Mountain last weekend and tire pressures got up to 41-40, front, 37-37 rear. I started at 28 front 27 rear. This was during my second 20 minute session. I had set the tires first thing in the AM cold.

I was driving in Competitive Driving Mode so that was probably the reason. I didn't want to lower my tire pressures during the day but looks like I'll have to. Any thoughts?

BTW Hoosier R9s

R9's? I think you mean R6's right?

I started off at 31 PSI (R6 + Nitrogen) at VIR last weekend and the fronts rose to 41 by the middle of the afternoon when temps went to around 85F. They were greasy in the braking zones at that pressure. I dropped them back to 36 hot. That helped.

There's lots of info available on tire pressures on this forum. Opinions are all over the place. It comes down to what feels good to you and what kind of life you expect out of your tires.
