Default Been asked the same question more then once this week

Time to explain it with a picture.

The difference between our street and track oil cooler setup, is the size. Bigger is better, no questions about that. But with a street-track car running stock like horsepower, the street setup works very well

Thanks for the info. How about difference in weight (with coolant) and the effects on handling since it is placed far forward? I imagine the key is to run the smallest radiator that you can get away with for your application.

edit: whoops thought I was looking at a radiator at first.

I just installed the track version. I think it was 6 lbs, maybe 8. Very little extra oil. Before this cooler, I could hit 300 degrees in 2 to 3 hot laps. A buddy of mine and I co-drove the car 2 weeks ago with the cooler (5 30 minute sessions a day) in 87 to 92 degree heat, and the highest temp we hit was 242.

This thing does a great job!

Randy, I've been looking for an oil cooler for my C4 track car. Could you PM me a price with just the cooler and brackets and the -8 to NPT adapters? I was originally going to go with Canton unit, but with actual results posted here, I'd rather go with your stuff.

I'd be interested in the same thing. Somehow I would up with 2 LT1 adapters for an oil cooler, but no cooler

That is correct. You would like the least amount of weight as possible out front. But what good is handling when you are looking at the temp gauge the whole time.

I would guess a extra 2 pounds up front.

I see you have a C5. It will bolt on in the front of the stock radiator and then run the oil lines back to the adapter
