Moving - Auto Transport Company Recommendation?
Recently completed a move from the east coast to the suburban Chicago area, but still need to get my 'Vette (C5) from there to here.
I could, of course, fly back east and drive it out. However, to guard against not being able to make the trip back for a heck of a lot of weeks, I was thinking about retaining an auto transport company to pick it up from where I have it stashed with family and deliver it to me in my new location.
I have no idea as to costs, but loading and type of transport is a concern. (My C5's suspension is non-stock and tad lower than normal.) So, although I'm not ruling them ouot, I'm shying away from those open, put anything and everything in the way of cars, bumper to bumper type of carrier trailers. I'd rather use one of those companies that has enclosed trailers with flat loading ramps/surfaces.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Safety Car
Unless you go with one of the big ones (Horseless Carrage, etc) these can be dicey. Smaller companies sub out to owner operators and the quaility/timeliness vary wildly. /:\

Geneva (home) / Lisle (work).
Drove down to Autobahn this past Sunday (1.25 hrs away) and they let me in as a spectator (for a small fee, of course). They were running a sport bike school / track day on the N course and a club GT race (only 5 cars - 2 911s, 1 NASCAR replica, 1 Lotus, and 1 kit car or whatever) on the south course. Obviously, different than VIR, but seems like a nice place.
My other options...
Blackhawk Farms (IL) is about 1.75 hrs northwest.
Road America (WI) is 3.5 hrs or so north (have driven here 2x before - great track!)
Gingerman (MI) is about 3.5 hrs northeast.
A little further...
Grattan (MI) is about 4.75 hrs northeast.
Putnam Park (IN) is about 5 hrs south.
Mid-Ohio (OH) is about 7 hrs east.
Brainerd Int'l Raceway (MN) is around 9.5 hrs northwest.
Motorsports Park Hastings (NE) is -10+ hrs west.
Mosport (ON, Canada) is about 11 hrs northeast.
Watkins Glen is 12+ hrs east.
And, if I ever want to kill my engine again...
Sebring (FL) is 22+ hrs southeast.
