Default C6 HPDE wheels/tires...exact sizes please

I know I know...search for this " XXX " thread.

I haven't seen anyone post their specific brand and size of wheels and tires for a base C6 coupe for HPDEs.

Please let me know what you guys run for:

front wheels/tires
rear wheels/tires

Looking to go for something cheap/decent grip/longevity for HPDE's about 4 to 5 times per year.

Some people say scrubs are a toss up with safety, so I'd like to stick to using New tires when I need to replace them. Toyo R888's ???

Looking to spend $1200 or less per tire set, cheaper the better of course.

What wheels/tires are decent? I was thinking 275/35/18 ( 18 x 10 wheels ) up front and 295/30/18 ( 18 x 11 wheels ) out back.

What do you guys think?

I run HPDE 2 right now....probably a year before I do HPDE 3, so I am not in a hurry.

I am currently using some R888 scrubs for autocrossing and HPDEs. I have never seen a safety issue occur with anybody that is running scrubs. I think whoever told you that doesn't know what they are talking about. Race teams use the tires for 2 to 4 heat cycles and change over to new shaved tires since the old ones have lost a little bit of performance. A number of people who only do 10 or so track days per year can take a set of those scrubs and run a season on them.

The wheel sizes are in the right range. A number of people use 18x11 front and 18x13 rear on the wide body cars so an inch or two less width should be in the ball park for a standard body car.

I am running 18X9 and 19x10.5 with 265/35/18 & 305/30/19 with no issues. I had good luck and about 10 track days on Hankook evo for under 1000. Changing to PS2 and cup in scrubs.

18x10 and 18x11 CCW C140s on my non-Z06 C6 car. 275/35r18+305/35r18. Could probably go 18x11.5 and a little wider tire with okay clearance on the rear. On the front I had 18x11 295/30r18 and was rubbing pretty bad. Even the 18x10 275/35r18 fits a little tight up front, honestly. If you're going track only wheels I'd think about pulling the wheel in-board since you won't ever turn to lock, anyway.

I know some guys have run C5Z wheels (18x10.5) and 315/30r18 tires on all four corners but I'm still not sure how without rubbing up front...

18s all around. 18x10 and 18x11 are great sizes

19" tires are to expensive and when you decided to get into R compounds there are 18" scrubbs to buy but not any 19" scrubbs
