Texas World Speedway 3 mile course
Texas World Speedway used the 3.0 mile Roval course again for the first time in several years last weekend. What an absolute blast! Coming out of the infield and blasting through the high banks was an experience that won't soon be forgotten. Some of us were seeing speeds of around 165 - 170 at the end of the front straight!
Because of the heat (afternoon air temp was 109, and track temp was God knows how high) there were a lot of no-shows. This meant a very uncrowded track. Those of you that didn't go missed a great event.
Thankfully, there were NO incidents at all! Hats off to everyone for doing a great job out there.
I can't wait to run this configuration again!
Andy, it was good to see you again, and Steve, thanks for the tips!

OK Bill....rub it in !
Glad tho that everyone had a fun and uneventful couple of days.
150 in the usual 2.9 ccw configuration using front straight only is common, so 170 with NASCAR 1 and 2 incorporated is completely realistic.
Cooler weather is just around the corner !

You missed a good one Blair! We didn't use NASCAR 1 & 2, we used NASCAR 3 & 4 and then the front straight. We entered the back straight just before NASCAR 3 after doing the the carousel. Can't wait to run this configuration again. Did you get your oil?

Bill. Pleasure to ride with you. I'm glad those little tweeks I made helped. For those that missed, We are running the same config next month only reversed. Those that have run TWS clockwise already know how fast it can be. Add in NASCAR T4 and T3 then back into the carrousel, just WOW I hope to see more Corvette's out on the track next month.

Mine didn't like the G forces on the banking either. I have a new found respect for the NASCAR guys that run on these banks week after week. There is just something different about looking up to see where your going.

I didn't have any issues with the banking. I tried several lines also. Low line was to ruff. Lane 2 had a huge bump in the middle of the corner but was smoother on entry and exit. I found if I came into the banking high and went lane 2 too lane 1.5 then track out lane 2.5 was fast and smooth. My Viper student was getting a lot of tire rub on the banking. You defiantly need a different setup on the car to compensate for the G Forces you get. Good stuff.
