Default Will the SpeedSouth Vette or Mayer win overall at Barber this weekend

This weekend there is a nice group of big bore cars for the SCCA & V8 StockCar group at Barber. The SpeedSouth boys and Bob Mayer will attempt to come home in front of the fast GT-1 Falcon of Dave Machavern. Machavern has the pony's in his Roush powered, Tommy Riggins built ride, but he hasn't raced at Barber in years and his 800 HP might not be as big a factor on the tight, technical track.

Could be an upset, wish I was gonna be there to watch, but will be at
V8 StockCar south at Sebring.

Charles Wicht will debut his Rocketsports Trans Am Corvette there.

I too would like to see this race. Maybe a rematch at the PBOC event in Nov? Is this their first time head to head at Barber?

David an I have been trying to race together for over a year!! Every event we have entered together, either his car breaks....or mine does! Now there is a shocker huh?!!! Hopefully we'll get it done this weekend!
David "owns" Barber and is a hell of a driver and the Speedsouth Corvette is an animal...so I'll have my hands full!!!! it should be a great weekend....hope neither of us break! As far as machavern is concerned.....I don't see any way Dave's SPO or my STO car is gonna run down a 800HP/2800lb GT1 car....but I guess thats why they run the races!!

But with 17 turns in only 2.38 miles and no long straights, Dave will have a more difficult time using that advantage. It ain't like you and the Leonard's got a couple of hamsters running around under the hood either.

Well, the battle of the century never materialized. We didn't even finish the warm up lap for qualifying when we had a failure of our brand new hoopty Prothane guibos. See the carnage here.

We will have it back together (with stock guibos) tonight and ready to race tomorrow, but the weather isn't too promising.
