Default Phoenix Front Tow Hook Installation Photos Here

Just finished installing an RPI Carbon Fiber splitter and I did a Phoenix removable Tow Hook while I had everything torn apart.

For disassembly of the front fascia I would refer you to a very nice step-by-step done by Poor-sha

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-z...ll-how-to.html

To do the tow hook install I used a 3/8 inch drill bit, a 14 mm open-end wrench, a one-inch wide wood "stick" (or use a dowel), and some good ol' duct tape and scotch tape.

The instructions that come with the hook do not have photos. The end result is great, but I would have loved some photos to help guide me.

The photos should be self explanatory. You need to get the washer and locking nut down the frame tube to get them aligned to the drilled holes, through which the bolts will pass. It is a bit tricky to do.

So I used the long one-inch stick with the open-end wrench firmly duct taped to it. Then used scotch tape to attache the washer and nut to the open end of the wrench. Once the nut get tightened down, the stick is pulled back abruptly and the scotch tape breaks away. Do the hole closest to the center of the car first, obviously.

I used a small c-clamp to keep the washer/nut from moving after I got them correctly positioned over the hole.

I found that 8 inches from the center of the car was just right.

Here are some photos after all was done.

Finally these two shots show the hook-bolt screwed in and what it look like with it taken out.

Can't see any of the pictures as you have your page as private.

Tried a different approach. You should be able to see them inside the post itself now. Thanks for letting me know.
