Default T-2 National Championship Race Sunday, 11:30 AM on speedcasttv.com

On the pole is a Mustang GT driven by Corvette National champion Andrew Aquilante.. Tune in for all the action.

Not many Chevy's in this battle, but should be a good race.

Andrew was looking fast and smooth in qualifying.

Great mixed rain race. Very exciting as the race came to AA then left him as the rain returned and the 4WD on rains beat the field. But right before then my web feed locked up and I missed the last important minutes of the race.

Same here. What happened to AA? He was way leading then it cut out, then he was last.

The rain came down and made it very hard for anybody to keep their car on track. Many crashed. They called the race.

What is a T2 mustang? Stock V8? Stock weight? Stock suspension? Horsepower and weight are what?

3650 pounds
375 hp with restrictor
Stock engine and trans.
3.30 rear diff
Penske shocks
Ford suspension package..

A very capable car that does it all ith a solid rear axle...

Ford has done their homework on this one and has done an excellent job.

Next year we will have a T-1 version hopefully...

As for the race.. Not much good happpens when it rains.

We guessed wrong and went for dry tires, believing that the track would dry and looking at radar. On the 7th lap the Andy had a 13 second lead and the skys opened up. Conditions were pretty bad and at least 10 to 12 cars went off track.. Including us.

Congrats to those who guessed correctly and went out on wets.

This car has to be a class killer in t2. Isn't this class filled with e46 M3's with 333hp in line 6's. I'm sure they are lighter, but still the 5.0 torque and hp at RA makes is the car to have I would think..

I hope so. That would breathe some life back into T1 and it would be great to have some Ford vs. GM vs. Dodge production car racing.
