Schattenbaum is a favorite group of mine--first group I solo'd with!
I highly recommend them. They run HPDE right in that perfect middle ground--safe, lots of track time, not too crowded but lots of skilled drivers and fast cars. Hope next year they put Summit back on the schedule.

then again, $340 is pretty much what you pay for most 1-day events anyway.
btw, unlike with other groups you can't just do the tech inspection yourself. you'll have to get the tech inspection signed off by a shop/technician. last time I had it done at ECS and they were OK with it.

I've run with them many times and they run great events-- well organized, safe and the guys are friendly.
If you email their contact I bet he'd work out a one day deal-- he's usually quite responsive.

A month in advance you shouldn't have issues and their instructors are great-- if you attempt to register it will show you if green/yellow is full. Would be surprised if that's true for a late season event.

mhhh.... as of right now i'm counting:
10 cars in the green group (instructed beginners)
13 cars in the yellow group (instructed novice)
and exactly another 23 in the red/black group which i think all the instructors are running in. so that would make sens that they won't allow new signups right now if all of them are instructing.
i guess i'll be the only vette then
but keep checking, maybe another spot will open up
