autocross: any reason why a passenger seat is needed?
Im new to autocrossing and im curious if theres any reason why I would need to run a passenger seat.
This is on a heavily mod'd 93 vert w/ cage, so Im not in a stock class.
are there any weird rules out there, in autoX, that generally require a front seat?

All depends what organization you're running in (NCCC, SCCA, ???) and how heavily modified it is (i.e.: what class you would be running in).
If you tell us what club/class you're looking at, I'm sure that someone can chime in with the right answer.

A pass seat is required untill you reach the prepared level class, And Prepared cars are NOT street cars, You are most likley in SSM class which requires a full interior

A passanger seat and full interior is also required in NCCC for everything except RP and RPAF cars. RP and RPAF cars can have a gutted interior. Everything else is required to have a full interior.
Besides, a passenger seat helps get people interested in the sport. I try to give people rides as much as I can to try and convince people to join in the fun.
