Mayer takes LG Motorsports V8 GT-2 wins @ V8 StockCar races at the SIC
Bob Mayer picked up two LG Motorsports V8 GT-2 wins at the SARRC Invitational Challenge at Roebling Road this past weekend. The SIC is the finale for the SE Division SCCA SARRC Series and also serves as the next to last round of the V8 Series.
Mayer in his familiar yellow ex World Challenge Corvette, won both the Saturday sprint race and the Sunday SIC over Ed Lewis and his Z06 Corvette. Lewis cut his quickest laps ever at Roebling this weekend.
Mayer cut into the points lead of LGM V8 GT-2 points leader Bill McGavic with the wins. McGavic now leads 129 to 120 with the series finale at the ARRC, where the winner will pick up an additional 48 points. McGavic wheels a tube frame, 12 A rotary powered last generation RX7 with which he won the SCCA SARRC GT3 championship. McGavic has been something of a giant killer this year, winning four times this year against Corvette's, Mustang's, Camaro's and the like with sometimes less than half the horsepower. McGavic finished third in the class during the featured SIC race.

Congratulations to Mayer and we at the North Florida Corvette Association wish him luck at the ARRC!
Put the Vette at the front
Gee, I've been around long enough to remember when Bill was autocrossing a Race Prepared Vette with NCCC down here in Florida.
Bill's a great guy but I gotta pull for the Vette!
Sorry I didn't get up to Roebling to work grid last Sunday but family called again.
