Default Daytona International event DEC 1-4

The time has come.

Audi has been putting on an event at Daytona International Speedway, and this year Cadillac owners have been invited out as a group. This is going to be a four day driving event, with instruction of braking zones, track logistics, passing/etc by well known professional drivers. Full Daytona NASCAR crew will be on site/pace car/fire crew/etc. Site information I will link will be for last years event, you can look at pictures, google it, however else you would like to research it. However, please do not sign up on the WEBSITE. You will not be with the Cadillac group if you do, and you will probably pay more money.

A V owner, Peter G, has been in contact with Audi on the event,..this is his email to me....

OK, here we go, let’s get this going. I’ve been working with Dave Pierson over the past few weeks just about daily putting together what we can offer a sponsor for their financial support with the weekend event. I’ll get to that in a bit but what we need to do is get the attached Daytona App and the brochure out to as many Caddy V owners and others who want to join us Caddy V people for the weekend. Because we want to keep all of the V apps together along with the none V car owners that are going to be with us, let everyone know to fill in the applications and email them to peterjddi@gmail.com. If they email the apps back to either one of you, you can then forward them to me.

Tell everyone NOT to use the web site application because it’s not working 100%, there’s a 3.9% fee the club pays for processing and we need to keep all these apps together and the more people we can put together the more benefits we will be given. As far as the fee and checks for the event go, here’s the deal with that.

Depending upon the number of people we put together our garage fee will be either reduced or ZERO. The track cost about $ 350,000.00 to rent for the 4 days so it’s difficult for him to waive any of the student fees. Here’s what we want to do with the fees right now. Student Fee $ 1,199.00 Garage Rental $ 199.00 if they have a RV or trailer $ 199.00 and if they need a helmet $ 40.00. So for now have people write a check for the Student Fee and whatever else they need and a separate check for the garage fee of $ 199.00.

There are two apps, one for Caddy V owners and one for Non Caddy. There both the same but if the Caddy people use the Caddy form we can know the number of Caddy drivers and we can use that for Caddy sponsorship ! Also ALL car have to go through a Technical inspection and the form is attached.

MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE DO NOT REGISTER ON THE SITE. HAVE THEM FILL OUT THE APP AND RETURN IT TO US ! Otherwise they will not be able to get the garage potentially for a reduced fee or for free !!

Here are the things we are going to get right out of the box.

1. Garages in a group in an area where you could bring in your own hospitality for the group.

2. Explore an opportunity for a videographer to capture the event by granting access to areas normally restricted, meaning spotters next, race control, and other interesting areas.

3) If there are enough participants, give the Caddy V drivers dedicated track time.

4) Relatively exclusive access to race control and media rooms, these rooms have exceptional views of the track, as in exceptional...! We can use for lunches and VIP tours and Sponsor meet and greet and a lunch.

5) Access to media rooms for presentations with potential guest drivers (IE Andy Pilgrim) or other drivers.

This is going to be a great event. Its a tough time of year for me but, its something I really wanna do. Everyone I have talked to said it was super classy and safe. All kinds of class act people around, a lot of famous drivers. Peter G had Mike Galatti hot lapping his V last year with him in the car. Something to many people can't say. Feel free to link this to any other classy car dudes that have some nice vehicles that YOU would want to have in YOUR/OUR group. I am posting this strictly on a volunteer basis,...I have to pay to enter as well.

Please email or call Peter directly for the application or more in depth questions, I also can email you the app. email me for APP @ rythemracer@yahoo.com and I will send it out to you ASAP.

Tell your friends, your family is welcome.

I had a great day at Daytona yesterday at the PBOC event!!!!

There's an event in Nov put on for Italian Marques - but if they don't fill up registration they'll let us lowly Vettes in.

Butt.....the best one is the Audi/Hooked On Driving event Smoove is talking about. Take a look at this older thread about the event for info on registering with Hooked On Driving:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...-4-2011-a.html

In that thread is a link to the HoD website where you can register.

Edit: I just checked Henry's site and it looks like you can no longer sign up for just one day on Fri - its sold out.

However, there's still room for either 2 days on Sat/Sun, or all 3 days Fri/Sat/Sun. Here's a direct link for info about the event:

C'ya at the track!!!!

Very cool Bob, thank you for the insight and the links

You can register on the site, you just won't be with our group(from what I am being told) and the price may not be the same. The more people we have from what I am told, the better chances of a possible reduced garage pricing. I have never been to this event myself, so I am a newb but, willing to have a blast learning the event.

Hope to see all there.
