Koni 3013 vs. Koni 3013 (Sport vs Special D Red)
Besides the fact that the newer 3013 Sport is inverted is there a difference in the internal valving between the 3013 Sport and the discontinued 3013 Special D red? Way back when the "Red" shocks by Koni were more of there street shocks where as the Sport/Yellow shocks were there track shocks. Wasn't sure if that held true in this case since there wasn't really a sport available for the C5 until the inverted design was released a few years ago.

Hi Steve,
We are unfamiliar with the Red D shock you mention, so can not comment on the specific valving. Phone Lee Grimes at Koni - 800-922-2616 ext. 316. He will know.
We can say that, generally, your "Way back when . . . " observation is still valid today. The Koni Reds are an after-market performance improvement to the OEM shocks; while the more easily adjustable Yellows are intended for the track.

I did get a response from someone that sells Koni shocks and they said the valving was different.
