Default Product Spotlight: Spherical Bearings for your next Podium Finish

Serious racing requires not only flawless technique but skillful part selection as well. With winter fast approaching here is the second part of our Off Season parts spotlight. This week we are featuring the Pfadt Race Engineering Spherical Control Arm Bearings.

For years now our dedicated C5 and C6 track day and autocross customers have been looking for that one last part that will set their cars apart from the rest. Cars whose life is spent mostly at the track can benefit greatly from an ultra low friction and zero deflection control arm bushing solution like our Spherical Control Arm Bearings. There are several improvements that will be immediately seen after installing Spherical Bearings:
  • Reduced friction at the pick up points results in much smoother control arm articulation for increased traction over rough surfaces
  • Increased steering response as steering wheel movement now directly relates to wheel movement
  • Decreased tire wear. Static negative camber can be dialed back because of decreased dynamic camber change due to bushing deflection
  • Driveability is increased as lower friction translates to more accurate control for the dampers.

With careful attention to the provided instructions, installation for the Pfadt Race Engineering spherical bearing kits can be easier than even a well engineered Polyurethane kit. Our sphericals are designed to be installed without welding, cutting or machining of any kind. The bearings are retained in their housings with a special super high strength retaining compound as well as the added security of included snap rings. Once the stock rubber bushings are pressed out of their housings with a press or vice and the bores cleaned up a bit the sphericals are glued into place, and once properly cured are ready for installation.

You can also feel good about your Spherical Bearing purchase knowing that these are designed and 100% manufactured in the USA and designed around high quality Teflon lined FK Bearings. Because these are intended for race use they were designed with maintenance in mind as well, as such replacement bearings themselves can be purchased directly from us without replacing the entire housing.

In competitive racing or time trials the margin of victory can be extremely slim. At Pfadt Race Engineering our job is to help take your suspension to the next level, and our spherical bearing kit may very well help take you to your next podium finish.

Here is a cut away view of one of our bearings installed into your stock control arm:

Rear sphericals are a great way to eliminate dynamic camber gain while launching hard. A drag race specific package that replaces the rear control arm bushings with spherical bearings is available. We have you drag racers covered as well!

Damn sexy Mr Pfadt!!!!

btw....ruling on SCCA T1 bushings should be in the 'pre-release notes' in days. If they went with the request for 'open' and didn't put restrictions on materials......your post above is quite timely!!

If they did restrict the materials.....expect an order for the polys soon.

Note I didn't leave any room for not approving SOMETHING? Keeping a positive mental attitude!!!

That sure would be awesome! Eliminating the stock rubber bushings in T1 cars sure would alleviate a lot of headaches from T1 teams!

That should make the T1/PTA debate even closer.

Maybe one day the SCCA will open the door to T1 Sphericals...Even though you still can't run these in T1 there are plenty of other classes that will definitely let you run these!

Any sales happening in the near future? I'm waiting for these like they were on Black Friday. Don't need them yet so I can be patient.
