Scuffs vs stickers
Watching today's Nascar race and noticed that tires being put on during pit stops all looked like "stickers". Broadcasters also never talk about putiing on scuffs vs stickers anymore. Doesn't Nascar use scuffs anymore? How about ALMS racing? I know most everyone here not only use scuffs but also buy 2-3 year old race tires for track days.

NASCAR scuff - new tire off the truck with all the rest that they ran for a lap or 3
Grassroots scuff - tire that's been to 40 track days, and has been been mounted/unmounted 12 times, stored in the lawnmower shed all summer/winter (by all 3 previous owners). sold used as a tire with 4 HC's and set 2 lap records with

Morris,
LOL, thanks for defending me. But, no, I was referring to the heat cycled ones I am going to throw away. Not the ones I just bought.
Just kills me to toss a tire that is not showing the inside layer of air. Maybe I'll bring them to Atlanta and use them for giving rides through T12. Jason can vouche for my finesse through that turn.

I put my corded ho-hos on the curb and some guy in a purple 944 always comes and takes them away
Probably takes a sharpie to the cords, mounts that side to the inside and auto-xs the crap out of them!

You taking the whole car or just the tires and wheels?
Forget the balancing. A straight dismount/mount usually runs about 8 bucks a tire.
(Except Sassco. They charged me 40 bucks to mount 2 loose tires at CMP. Took all of about 47 seconds.)

I take them the wheels/tires. Plus I'm willing to "pay" a little for the fact that they're down the street from my work.
Do you/Mark balance your tires anymore, or just mount and go?
