Default Brake Suggestions

Well its time for me to update my brakes, they are kinda doneso.

Car gets daily driven and auto-x regularly

What would be a good rotor to go with? Racing Brake?

And i was thinking HP+'s on the pads...

Any suggestions are welcome.

If you don't care about weight, just go with the cheapest rotor you can find. If weight is a concern, then buy a two piece rotor. Be careful, some two piece rotors weigh more. I bought mine from Performance AFX. Save about 2lbs. front. 3lbs. rear.

HPS or HP+. Takes more pedal pressure to stop the car with HPS. That can be good if your a masher. I've been running HP+ this season.

Carbotech Ax6 is great compound for what you are looking for and a Dba 4000 series rotors. What year is the car?

The AX6™ takes the place of the Panther Plus™ compound that was so successful. AX6™ was specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range (50°F to 1150°F +). Advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial “bite”, high coefficient of friction, and very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. AX6™ offers high fade resistance, rotor friendliness at all temperatures, excellent cold stopping power, and non corrosive dust. As a result, AX6™ is an excellent choice for Autocross & AX6™ has gained tremendous popularity with SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors for its fantastic bite, release & modulation. Many drivers use the AX6™ for street driving as well, even though Carbotech doesn’t recommend street driving with AX6™ due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. AX6™ is NOT a race compound, and should not be used as such. AX6™ shouldn’t be used by any intermediate or advanced track day drivers, and should not be used with “R” compound tires (racing tires

I'm a fan of Carbotech and the AX6 are fine on the street as long as you are not so soft on the brakes.

The dust does not damage wheels/paint like the Hawk stuff can.

I just put CarboTech XP10 front and XP8 rear on both my 89 (a/x with hoosier A tires) and my C6Z06 (occasional street but mostly a/x and track also on Hooseir A's).

More agressive than CarboTech recommended but I am very happy wiht performance. The DO squeal! but the dust comes off easy and they DO stop, even when COLD IMO.

I expect to switch my road race RX7's to CarboTech from Hawk next year.
