Thank you to all veterans! Missing my dad today a vet of Viet Nam. Taking my nephew to dinner tonight who is a recruit in the Air Force. He is finishing his senior year of HS and will report to basic next summer.

Ditto that. Thanks to all the veteran's... past and present... even you Jeff and Kevin Both my grandfather's were WWII vet's. I unfortunately lost one of them(Army Infantry) earlier this year and wasn't able to attend the funeral due to other obligations. Def. in my thoughts today what those great men of that generation went through.

Honoring Veterans
I had the privilege of enjoying a free lunch at our local Applebee's. It was more than lunch. It was almost an emotional experience seeing the restaurant packed full with a waiting line. I saw veterans from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and several Persian Gulf wars. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. I saw former POWs, combat infantry, LRRPs and current military. Remembering the luke warm reception the Vietnam era vets received back in the day, it did my heart good to witness such an outpouring of appreciation.
I will remember this lunch as I remember the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans statute at The Wall 0n 11/11/1984. And the memories of that, my friends, is forever burned in my mind.
