Default Advice on wheel size

Getting ready to convert car to full time track car and need some advice on wheel size. I have a 2004 Z06 and want to run a squared set-up. What is the recommeded wheel size for best performance 17" or 18" on all four corners ? Will be buying the wheels this winter and want to make sure I get what will work best. Will be running the car in NASA TTA in 2012.

C5 Z06 wheels 18x10.5" they give you most possibilities anything from a 255 - 315 fit on those wheels.

Most popular option is OEM Z06 rear wheels all around. They're light, strong, cheap and can fit 255s-315s.

Took me forever but I gathered up 8 18x10.5 Alcoas which came on 2001 Z06s only. They're forged vs. the spuncast Speedlines that came on 2002-2004s.

The GS 17x11 are also great but the OEM ones are getting tough to find. Avoid aftermarket ZO6 or GS wheels they are a LOT heavier then OEM.

I think the 18s also give you much better access to scrub Hoosiers if you ever need them.

BTW I have two sets of Speedlines. I know the one set came from my
'01, but not sure what year the others came off of. Is there an easy way to tell the difference?

The spokes on the Alcoas have a sharper edge and the wheels are a slightly darker color. The Speedlines have a roudned edge on the spokes and are slightly lighter. Also, the Speedlines say "Speedline" on the back whereas the Alcoas have "GM" sort of etched on the back.

Speedline wheel markings:

2001 Alcoa Z06
