Default C5 Stock Replacement Front Two Piece Rotors?

Who makes the best ones and why? The ones I am interested in are a replacement for the c5 front stock rotor using C5/6 calipers.

I've had good results with the DBA slotted 2-piece from KNS Brakes

DBA and wilwood likely the least expensive. Brian has done well with his DBA

Have run the AP T1 2pc. from Hardbar this year. So far, so good. Hawk 70's haven't hurt them too bad, yet. Same size as OEM.

I'm using the Stoptech Aero 2 piece rotors because when you figure in the replacement ring costs they end up a little cheaper over time than some of the others. They've been working well.

Looked at his post $369 seems killer and he has them! How much are rings and how are yours wearing?

What rings do they use?

I don't know... haven't bought any yet. Bought two sets of rotors in summer 2010 and only switched to the 2nd set because I put Wilwoods up front which had a different firepath.

Here's the original set after a 9 track weekends (was test fitting the Wilwoods). They're my backups now.

Ooops, sorry buddy. I missed the 'why?' in your OP. The AP have more and closer spacing on crossbridges to keep warping/expansion dips to minimum. I have not experienced any knock back with the wilwood SL6's (no anti-knock back springs). They are a little pricey - $1K for front set only and replacement rotors around $250 each. However, no down time working up a sweat in July while changing cracked rotor.

I thought Gary said his 2pc rotors wouldn't work with the stock slide rail calipers due to clearance issues?

Well, could be. When I spoke with him last year I already had the Wilwoods mounted there. I know they are the same diameter as OEM, more or less.

I have a set of these on my C6 and like them a lot. They are lite and lasted a long time for me. http://shop.performanceafx.com/C5-Corvette_c13.htm

We've had very good results with StopTech rotors, between $650-$700 for the initial purchase and $140 - $150 for replacement rings.
Heck we got lucky and found a used set of rotors and hats for $300 a few years ago. It's nice to have spares

Looks like they run from ~$320 to ~$1000. I have seen the Stoptechs, AFX, DBA, Hardbar and Wilwood all on track and in the paddock. Cracking seems to be way less common (as it should be!).

You are definatly going to want to find out what the replacement rotor costs are going to be up front. Also see how difficult/easy it is for you to get replacement rotors - if there is a vendor in your area or if you have to order them yourself. Some of the stuff coming from Cali can take a week for you to get.
