Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, California
January 21 – 22, 2012
The California Sports Car Club is presenting two days of awesome road racing celebrating Andy Porterfield’s many years of racing. Andy, at 80 years young, remains one of the most competitive drivers in the country, as well as running a very successful company, Porterfield Enterprises which is the sponsor of this weekend of racing. Andy began his long racing career in 1957 and has competed continuously for 55 years. He has won more than 250 SCCA National races, many Divisional titles and more races overall than anyone in the history of the SCCA. And along the way he won two National Championships. On the professional side his first race was in the 1959 Times Grand Prix at Riverside International Raceway, from there he competed in multitude of Trans-Am and IMSA races across the country.
Porterfield Enterprises has earned a reputation for manufacturing quality competition brake pads and brake products to the performance racing industry. Their current racing program gives them constant feedback and comparison of the latest innovations in braking technology. Porterfield’s engineering and in-house manufacturing capabilities are known worldwide.
The Porterfield Brakes National/Double Regional at Auto Club Speedway kicks off Cal Club’s 2012 road racing season with eight more racing weekends throughout the year, ending in October with the second annual Pacific Coast Road Racing Championships. Spectators are welcome and there is no admission charge.
Cal Club is a region of the Sports Car Club of America, the builder of Buttonwillow Raceway Park located in Buttonwillow, California, a few miles west of Bakersfield. The Club is in its 62nd year, has nearly 2,000 members offering competition programs in road racing, solo/autocross, time trials, and road rally. The Club has a rich history of producing some of the world’s most noted drivers and the best race volunteer workers the sport has ever seen.

Melting Slicks
Wow, just over a month away. One nice thing about the West Coast: no off-seaon . I've been busting my butt the past couple weeks trying to get all my winter wrenching done. Still have a week to go, then back out to the track in Dec.
