Default FS: 2002 Corvette Z06 “Track Car”

As everybody in this forum knows, I’ve debated back and forth long enough about this. I am in the process of closing a deal on a Toy Hauler for my Sand Rail and am just going to stick to the dunes for awhile. I am going to sell my Z06. You can search for posts by my username for most of the history of this car, and you can review this tread for people’s opinions about the value of the car. I prefer to be entirely up-front and direct in dealing with buying/selling on the forums so feel free to ask me anything. I will also be selling my race trailer for those interested. I’d make a package deal for those interested as well.

2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
  • 427 short-block (LS7 block, all forged internals, non-LS7 crank for true dry-sump)
  • ARE true dry-sump (3 stages scavenge, 1 stage pressure)
  • PRC 265cc LS7 heads
  • LS7 lifters
  • LS7 rockers w/ bearing upgrade
  • Mid 240s/250s .670 lift cam
  • 12:1 Compression
  • Fast 102mm Intake
  • Nick Williams 102mm TB
  • 80# injectors
  • Ron Davis Radiator w/ Oil Cooler
  • Power Steering Cooler
  • DRM Trans & Diff Coolers (heat exchangers behind rear factory brake-duct opening)
  • CAI
  • Kooks 1 7/8" stepped to 2" Long Tubes & Off-Road X-Pipe
  • Stock Ti Catback
  • LG "G-Stop" Wilwood front BBK
  • DRM/LG Brake Ducts & Spindle Mounts
  • T1 Sway Bars
  • Pfadt Coilovers
  • Pfadt Spherical Bearing Bushing Replacements
  • Pfadt Billet/Poly Motor Mounts
  • VBP Billet/Poly Trans-axle Mount
  • Hardbar Alignment Locks/Shims
  • Full NASA/SCCA legal Roll Cage
  • Halon Fire Suppression System
  • Crow 6-Point Harnesses
  • Window Nets
  • Momo Steering Wheel w/ Quick-Release
  • Removed Air Bags, Stereo and HVAC (small blower for defrost)
  • RPS Billet/Carbon Dual-Disk
  • B&M Shifter
  • Shift Light
  • Lowered and Corner-Weighted
  • RPM Built MN6 (tighter gear spacing than the stock M12)
  • LPE Built Rear (3.42, upgraded diff, upgraded output shafts, etc)
  • DTE Brace
  • SFK Upgraded Wheel Bearings (with long studs) at all 4 Corners
  • 600RWHP/530RWTWQ NA on E85
I'm forgetting some of the minor supporting mods (like the fuel pump etc.) and don't have the exact cam specs on me now. I also have five (5) full sets of factory GM C5Z06 wheels (2 sets are the forged '01s) with it and a bunch of tires (most of the tires are old/well used and not really worth mentioning, one pretty fresh set of A6s). Pics below.

PRC 265cc LS7 heads, went for the Ti/stainless intake/exhaust valves and the PRC spring kit that allows up to .675 lift. Almost 390cfm on these things in the range I'm using (over 390 @ .700 but I'm only going .670 on lift).
Lift LS7 Intake LS7 Exhaust PRC Intake PRC Exhaust
.200 161 114 169 119
.300 227 171 248 179
.400 291 193 308 211
.500 330 203 351 224
.600 351 209 383 235
.650 353 204 388 241
.700 353 209 393 246

NOTE: Numbers are just vinyl

I'm sure I have a ton more pics of it around, and could dig them up for anybody really interested. The car has had one off-track experience. I went 4 wheels off a THill and did not impact anything solid, just the mud berm going off to the right after 9. It bent the bolt-in piece under the radiator which was replaced with a GM part and tore the front fascia plastic a bit. It is all back together and looks great from 5' but it's not a show car.

Price for car, 4 sets of C5Z wheels, all spares etc. with motor: $35k (plus any shipping costs or other fees)

Price for car, 4 sets of C5Z wheels, all spares etc. but without longblock from pan to intake, tb, dry sump pump, dry sump pump to pan lines, and clutch and a few other minor things: $25k (note: this does include the dry sump tank, the remote oil filter block, all lines that are integrated into the car etc).

Keep in mind either way this includes the brand new fire suppression system, seats, harnesses, nets etc. It also includes (if I can find it) a intercom system and headsets that mount in your helmets for driver and passenger (i.e. so you can hear an instructor). I have a spare decklid too if you want to experiment with wings… otherwise I’ll keep it as wall art for the garage.

Sorry, I would not. The whole reason behind separating the motor from the car is for me to keep it for a Sand Rail (I'm reducing to one hobby for now... which is the reason behind the sale in the first place).

Thanks anyway,
TJ

Is the car still officially road legal? I.e. still has a license and registration?

It's PNO, planned non-operational. There'd be no way to smog it in CA with the current setup.

It's quite an amazing machine. I got a few rides in it before it was finalized, and have been around the car for about 5 years now.

Rails should be your next market. I'll even test out your prototypes free for you!

You have PM.

That is correct, and even harder w/o a motor. But there are ways to work around things (like say a stock LS6 falls in for a while), serious buyers should PM me.

Good luck w/ the C4 sale, maybe it'll work out for both of us!

Thanks! I don't even care to think about how much $ is in this car... but let's just say it's several times what I'm asking for it. Of course, that's the game we play. Hopefully somebody can take advantage of this screaming deal and this car will get on the track the way it deserves!

Somebody needs to buy themselves a Christmas gift!

Do it, you'll save a FORTUNE (while I lose it ) compared to building your car, even if you sell your brand new Pfadt parts at a minor loss. If you have their sways keep them for my car. It just has factory T1 bars right now so it'd be a nice tuning aid. I have a buddy headed to UT for business Monday... he owns a D'max. Get the truck and trailer and we can easily work out delivery!

Thanks. It has very few track miles, and basically none in this configuration. Somebody is going to get a heck of a deal!

I really don't think so, but you can PM me. I'm trying to get away from the fast-car game for now.
