How do the Kumho's work for you?

In 10 and the beginning of 11 I used Nitto NT05s. Great wear. I got 26 track days and several autocrosses from them. However, on the track the tires weren't quite as capable as stock EMTs. In an autocross they seemed to be quite a bit better than the EMTs.

3 days were at TGPR which is very rough on tires. but cheap to go and 1 hr from the house.

With my limited experience. I really liked them.very sticky but do not last as long as NT05's. I think that was because of press. took me awile to figure out press and tire wear. think I got 14 days outta them.

I aim for somewhere around 37-38 psi hot. Seems to work ok, but I don't have extensive testing to back that up. Generally in the mornings it can be quite chilly in NorCal, so I start out around 26-27 psi cold, but will continue to let air out throughout the day as things warm up.
Personally I thought the XS's were going to be stickier than they are for 180 treadwear rating... maybe I'm too spoiled riding around with other guys in R Comps. You can really hear them though... here's a lap around Thunderhill with them.

They're squealers, all right. When I first started HPDEs, I liked tires that made noise for the extra clues it gave me that I was close to the traction limits, but after a bit of experience, it started to just irritate me for some reason, so I switched to tires that are quieter.
Nice driving! Isn't it fun?

I would like to hear more on these tires as well. My PS2's are almost done and I was looking into these as replacements.
Anybody else with experience on these tires?

I like 'em. Just ordered a new set, these tires seem to stay on back order quite a bit for C6 sizes. Hopefully I figured out air press were they will last a couple extra days.

I ran them this year, and usually around 35 hot. Might try a bit lower in the future.
For a "street" tire they take a whole lot of heat to actually make any grip but are otherwise very enjoyable.
Stock C5Z06.

Im shopping also. I am eyeing the RE-11. Rode in autox with this guy Brian from BS and he stated Re-11 is great. A little more $$ but it may be worth. Getting prices on Monday

The RE11 would probably be a better street/autocross tire, and the XS is probably a better road course tire.
It will be hard to get enough heat into the XS without a few warmup laps. Although maybe in AZ....
