I may be in Sandiago Area. What race tracks are nearby. May try to do a DE event while I am there if I can.

Also, does any groups rent track cars in that area?

San Diego itself is a wasteland for race tracks. The nearest track is Auto Club Speedway at 60-90 minutes depending upon where you are departing in San Diego. Next up are Willow Springs and Chuckwalla. My guess is both are close to three hours away. Four to five hours away are Buttonwillow and Spring Mountain.

If you want to rent races cars I know a couple of places. PM me if interested.

We're heading from San Diego to Chuckwalla for a Star Car Sports event on the 25th. I believe the Corvette Challenge is at ACS on the 26th.

That makes a big difference. That is not the "San Diego area" by my definition. San Diego is about 90 miles south of that area with large part of it empty area occupied by the Camp Pendelton Marine Base.

Auto Club Speedway is only about 30-45 minutes away from Anaheim and less than an hour from Laguna Beach unless traffic is bad.

Chuckwalla is probably 3 hours away from Anaheim. WSIR is about two hours away and Buttonwillow about 2.5 hours away from Anaheim. Add 1/2 to those times for Laguna Beach.

To me Anaheim = Disneyland ~= Los Angeles. It's, uh, 6 hours to Laguna Seca? :-) Sears Point would be at least another hour, and Thunderhill probably the same. SoCal, though, has plenty to offer like Olitho is mentioning...

Thanks guys - I am not 100pct sure of the dates yet but it probably will be mid to late April. I would like to inquire about car rental so if anyone has any leads please let me know.
