Default C5/C6 race cars with master cut-off. Any issues storing with the cut-off off?

Since I have a small Odyssey battery I turn the master cut-off switch off and keep the battery on a tender when the car is parked.

Any issues with this? It's effectively the same as parking the car with the battery disconnected.

Disconnecting the battery for 10 or 15 minutes resets the computer right? Is there anything I'm potentially messing up by doing this i.e. what data is the car losing? Idle relearn? Fuel trim issues? Etc?

What does everyone else with a master cut-off do?

Brian, on my LS2, the idle relearn is the only temporary issue. I do the same thing, kill switch off and battery tender on during storage.

Thanks John... anyone else? Any potential issues losing the fuel trims? Wondering if it could be related to my recent dyno issues.

The fuel trims you lose are for the closed loop (aka part throttle putting around town) trims. Won't make a bit of difference on the dyno or track. You don't use your learned trims at all in open loop, it just defaults to whatever your tuner stored in the pcm.

10-4 thanks man. I tend to get closed loop vs. open loop and short term trims and long term trims confused in my head

I've never had an issue with mine. All I do is just turn the switch and and I've been leaving the battery still in the car. But I will probably be switching to a lighter battery while the car is down anyways to save some weight.

Anyone ever had the DIC read jiberish if you turn the car on/off with the kill switch too soon? I've had it a couple of times, but if you turn the car off and let it sit a few minutes it goes back to English.

I always get the "Pull Key, Wait 10 Seconds" on mine, but that's it. I just pull the key and wait and then it starts just fine.

Ahh... that's column lock. I have that all turned off and bypassed. In my case you start the car up and instead of reading in English it's random characters and letters. I think it has something to do with cutting the kill switch too soon after you turn the car off. It only happed once before and then happened last night when I was checking some code stuff. Never at the track.

I think your car is just cussing you in a foreign language.

If that's the case then it speaks a mixture of Chinese, Russian and Egyptian
