Default 00 frc tpm question

I'm looking at getting a spare set of rims for my 00 frc for track tires, I currently have a set of rebuilt tpm that are on street rims. I will only have one set of tpm that are on the street rims. My question is will I have ahtc issues without the tpm for the track rims, will this put my car in limp mode? If it would be easiest when I have my car tuned I'll have them take the tpm's out of the program, would that fix any issues?
Thanks for any info

No... on a C5 you won't have any issues other than the DIC will chime at you and the pressures will display 00; the car will run 100% fine. The C6 uses the tire pressure data for somce of the PCM functions so it puts it in limp mode.

One of the great things about the C5 is that you don't have to deal with as many electrical nannies as the C6.

Default Tpms

Cool, so no problems with putting it into comp mode? I didn't want to spend another $400-$600 in TPM, and would rather not have to put the sensors into a pressurized pvc pipe to trick the computer.

When the Tire Pressure System warning shows up on the DIC all you have to do is reach over and hit the reset button. You won't see that message again until after you restart the engine.

Pretty simple. C5s were designed before the Government required tire pressure monitoring systems on all new cars. Life was a lot simpler before the Feds got involved. Thank the idiots that couldn't keep the tires on their Ford Explorers inflated properly.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll leave the tpm's in my street rims and not worry about it for my autoX rims. Thanks agian

For my 99 FRC I have 4 sets of rims and none of them have sensors. I'm so use to resetting the message every startup that I don't even notice it anymore.
