Default Nitto NT-01 vs. Toyo R888

Looking for any input on advantages / disadvantages, between Toyo R888 and Nitto NT-01 tires.

Primary use being autocross on abrasive surfaces (concrete or rough asphalt) with multiple driver car. Occasional use in HPDE events.

Both have same treadwear rating of 100, and similar pricing.

NOT looking to compare with A6's or 710's as I already run those on asphalt and smooth concrete in autocross situations.

Any input appreciated.

ran both, same car, same driver, same tracks. NT01 is a better tire - dry or wet, new or moderately cycled.

if you must run toyo, run RA1 instead.

I've used both tires quite a bit and will take the NT01 over the Toyo any day. IMO the Toyos felt good when new and then quickly dropped off after a few events. By about 8 events (~30 sessions) they had no more grip than a decent set of street tires.

The tread wear rating can't be compared between manufacturers, it is used to compare tires of the same brand.

I have been using the R888 for autocross. Other than the first run they seem pretty good. Not A6 good but better than any non-r-compound tire out there.

What he said. I actually prefer NTO1's over RA1's also even though RA1's are a very good tire. NTO1's are actually an RA1 carcass. Hows that for a tongue twister.
Oh yeah, NTO1's are also cheaper.
