Default When are my NT05 wore out

My NT05's now have about 6,000 miles and 2-1/2 track days, The wear bars are even and the side tread looks good, I wanted to run at least one more at Sebring end of March, I am going to Daytona April 12 and can not decide if I want to run my new PSS's or get new Nt05's and try to heat cycle before Daytona. Last outing Homestead I thought they were the best they had been or it could just be I "MAY" finally be getting it

My NT-05s were very slick on the street when I retired them to track days only. This occurred at about 10,000 miles and down to the wear bars. HOWEVER..........at that point, I now use them JUST for track, and they are fine (7 additional sessions in one December day), BUT, they do need to be warmed up first! (Your mileage may differ)

Based on this sounds like I have lots of life left, Would you run your tires at Daytona or go with the PSS

I have only run RACE tires at Daytona, as the consequences of tire failure on the banking are severe

I got 26 track days on my NT05s before they got so heat cycled out they lost all grip when I tried them in an autocross. Had somewhere around 2500 track miles on them with some tread still left. The last few track events I had to wait until they got good and hot before they seemed to have any traction.

How fast do you expect to go at Daytona? I know I hit over 150 at the end of the back stretch at the Glen and that is going up hill with no where near the kind of speed coming out of Turn 2 that you can muster coming out of the turn 2 at Daytona. The NT05s are only rated to168 mph.

I would take fresh tires to Daytona. Most anywhere else I'd run them as long as they held air.

I have new PSS and have put about 300 miles on them so far, I hear I should be able to get up to 165-170. I could run these at Daytona
