Default SCCA at Rd Atl

I recieved a call from someone "in the know" a few moments ago that said Chris Ingle was involved in a bad crash today at Rd Atl.
He went on to say that Chris was OK, but details were sketchy. Does anyone have any info on this?

Chris' Motor blew in the S's and he crashed into the concrete wall on D left and ended up in the Gravel pit. I believe he bounced off the wall front and rear. He's fine but the car looks really bad. Not a good weekend for Corvettes, My motor went to zero oil pressure turn 5 first lap of race, Tony Ave wrecked a brand new GT1 car during testing Thursday, Another GT1 vette blew his motor.

WOW! Nasty sounding weekend. Hope everyone is okay.

Sounds like those new LS motors are still not oiling well even with a dry sump.

Damn............hate to hear of both your misfortunes.......for more than one reason. Did you get yours shut down before it made REALLY expensive noises?

Glad everyone is OK! It's amazing to me that GM could build track worthy engines 10 years ago but they can't today. What will the C7 have in store?

It was coming out of 9 that the motor let go. He hit the wall driver's left and ended up in the grass at 10A. I was behind him and have it on tape. Will post up later. Debris field was pretty bad. I had part of his fender in my front grill. One wheel and tire was on the side of the track.

Thanks Guys. My bad Ed, I was on the road home when we got info by phone. That means he was going maybe 140-150mph when it hit the fan. You might want to post up your video of barely missing my car at Turn 6 where the SCCA left my car there unsafely too for the entire race.

Man that really sucks. That car has been nothing but issues for him. Glad he's physically unhurt though.

Wow - that is horrible. Glad to hear everybody is ok. I'd be done with racing for a bit too after something like that.

Just now looked at the pictures, just a sick feeling in my stomach to see them. Makes me realize how lucky I was hitting the inside wall on the front stretch there and still be able to rebuild back.

Don't stay down too long Chris.
