Track Insurance Recommendation/Experiences
I would like to know if anyone had a accident on the track with track insurance...was it taken care of without issues..
I have looked into:
ontrackinsurance: 10 percent deductable
http://www.ontrackinsurance.com/index.aspx
Locktonaffinity: 5 percent deductable
http://pcahpdeins.locktonaffinity.co...ult.aspx?cID=1
Any experences with these companies..
Tom

i have used lockton affinity once and ontrackinsurance twice last year for my 2003 z06. i listed the value of the car at $24,000 with a novice driver.
lockton was about $200 for a two-day event.
ontrackinsurance was about $160 for both a one-day event and a two-day event. i think it was $135 (minimum) plus fees for a total of $160.
luckily i didn't have to use either one for a claim so far

I paid 1,700 for a 15 event policy insured for 30k with lockton affinity. Have not needed to make a claim.
$1,045 for a 5 (maybe 6) event policy from hartland for 45k coverage. Have not needed to make a claim on that either.
It looks to me like they both cover multiple days if it is a multiple day event. The more events you purchase, the cheaper it gets.
And I'm in before the "if you can't afford to lose the car, you shouldn't do it" crowd.

I use Lockton. Last two day at Sebring cost me around $140 I think listing the value at $25k I believe.
I haven't personally had a claim but there is a Chin Member that totaled his car at the track and was using Lockton and they wrote him a check.

Now thats what I was looking for....I wanted to know if the companies would actually cover the accident on the track or just give you a hard time in covering the damages.

I've used both Lockton and OnTrack. I believe you have your deductibles reversed - Lockton is 10%, OnTrack is 5% of declared value, not damages.
I know these things because I did have a wreck, about $23K on a $50 declared value. OnTrack did write a check but we are not done yet. They will be paying additional as the repairs are completed. Also, Ontrack only will write policies if you've not had an track accident resulting in a claim. Lockton will allow allow one claim.
For details see http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...ong-story.html
I highly recommend track insurance!

Any issue with the claim so far with ontrackinsurance?

You are correct! Very interesting. OnTrack just increased from 5 to 10%, minimun $2500 and I'm pretty darned sure Lockton dropped from 10 to 5%, minimum $1500.
My declared value was $50,000 and my deductible is $2500 or 5% of $50K. My policy was written on Feb 6, 2012.
This is good news for me since Lockton is now my track insurance carrier (they allow an one claim).
Thanks for the correction!
Jim
WRT how the claim is going, so far, quite well. Within 1-1/2weeks all should be final. Follow the link in my post above for how it all ends.
