Thanks for the info. Recently moved to the KC area and have been looking for tracktime opportunities in the region.

Damien runs a great event and there are typically less than 30 cars so you get plenty of time. MAM is a good track but the driver acccomodations are not great. It's very safe with a lot of run off areas. Hope to see you there!

Second that about Damien's events. More track time than you probably want and a very reasonable registration fee. MAM usually has high octane pump gas and race gas and the bathrooms are clean. On site food too. All one can ask for.

Anyone know what kind of passing rules they run at the Find the Line events? I'd like to make at least 1-2 HDPE's this year but haven't decided which track(s) yet, was leaning towards BIR as it's closest to me or Road America as I've run there before, but the FTL events seem very reasonably priced for the amount of track time they offer.

Here's the link to BIR's PDE's.

MAM is a fun track, been there quite a bit. Usually stay 20 miles away at the hotel across from the casino. Only downfall is the drive from MPLS to MAM. 150 bucks a day at MAM is a good price.

BIR is 295 a day and on a Monday usually. However May 12th is a Saturday. BIR is usually pretty busy and runs 3 classes of driving. The experienced class is usually has the least number of entries and what I consider the safest class to run in. BIR on the 3.1 mile course is fast because of using the dragstrip as the front straight. Easy to hit the 150 mph area. On the 2.5 mile track, several of the corners are interesting to watch as there are routine spins and going off the track.

I'll be up at BIR on the 7th. If you come up, stop by.

The track itself made it through the flood last year in great shape needing only minor patching. The facilities are being renovated currently. Concessions are not operational as yet and I don't believe the fuel situation has been remedied. I will see what info I can get from Jim (Roadkill) to keep you all informed......

I was on track at MAM for the PCA event a couple of weeks ago and the track surface is great. It's a little rough coming off track into the hot pits and the paddock is worse than before. They have bathrooms and were working on the food safety inspection to open the concession stand. They will allow camping and have 2 showers.

Saturday is forecasted at 86 degrees and 10% chance of rain.

You can stay at the Hampton Inn Attached to the Casino in Council Bluffs for $99 a night. They usually increase the room rate on Saturday nights but if you ask they will give you $99 both nights when you book it.

Transponders are $10 a day if they have the system working by this weekend. They were working on power and the speaker system the last time I was there.

The fun thing about Find the Line is that they will allow passengers for the intermediate and advanced groups. My brother is bringing his 65 Cobra Replica. It's a handful just to sit in the passenger seat!

There were four corvettes at the last PCA weekend which was fun among all the Porsches.

Is anybody else up for some fun this weekend?
