Default G2 coilovers....what a difference!

Cant believe i waited so long to do this mod. I though the car handled great before with T1 shocks, T1 sways, and zo6 springs. Those feel like a 1988 station wagon now. These things truely are awesome. And i havent even tracked it yet...cant wait!

Did mine about 2 months ago along with poly bushings. They really wake the car up. It is absolutely flat in the corners and steering response is markedly improved.

a set of G2s were already on my C5Z when I purchased it - along with T1 bars - no aero. Love em but very softly sprung. What spring rates do you G2 guys have ?

You know, posts like these aren't very helpful for my pocket book. I just finally made the switch to real track tires from street tires and was WOWED at the difference. I was rummaging through the forum wondering what sways and coil overs would be like and now reading this makes my wallet start hurting even more.

Do you know what springs you have? The standard rates are 700 F and 600 R. That's pretty stiff.

I just tried out my LG GT2 adj last weekend at RD Atl. I went from Pfadt adj to these running T1 sways and R80 slicks. Biggest difference I could tell was on turn in - much more stable. I may have had them set too stiff as it felt darty to me in other transitions. Going to VIR in 2 weeks, and I have a lot more time on that track so I will be able to tweak them and tell for sure if times improve. Update us on how they do after your first tracking day.

Just to further comment from my experience, I put on Hoosiers (long time ago galaxy far away), and immediately noticed they were overpowering the stock suspension, and the car would roll, dive and do dicey things at high speed. I actually went with coil-overs myself ONLY because Hoosiers caused me to overdrive the stock suspension. Why the tires could handle the cornering forces, the suspension was a mess. I actually wore down my front splitter at Watkins Glen because the car would bottom out (stock ride height) lap after lap. So I did it the other way around (tires then coil overs).

The LG's help me stop fighting the car. I no longer was sliding, diving and rolling all over the track. I could focus on apex and braking without worry how the car was going to react at speed. I hated when I would threshold brake and the back end would get loose because the nose was just digging into the pavement. That was not cool at 150mph.

Great product, sure helped me put a lot of trophies/plaques on my office wall.

Yes I've noticed that about the stock C5Z suspension, even w/Bilstein sports shocks. On Nitto R-II, braking from 142, ABS most of way, back and wags a bit. Not confidence inspiring but I'm used to it.

A C5Z on stock springs and shocks has proven to be good for 1:31's at Rd Atl and 2:03's at VIR. I'd say that's pretty darn good to be a crappy system.

After looking at my vids from Rd Atl last Aug, I was running a consistent 5 sec/lap quicker this spring ~1:45s down to consistent 1:40s. Same tires, same everything except coilovers and a little more time on the tires. I did have a rear brake issue this past weekend, so I only had 1 side of rear brakes working. It cut down on my speeds as I did not know what the issue was at the time.

This... until your sub 1:40s at RA and under 2:10 at VIR you don't need to be modding your car. But of course then the parts peddlers couldn't stay in business
