Default torque spec for rear CV socket

Anybody know what the ft lb torque is for the rear CV socket on a C6?
I have searched on our forum and only found a list of torque specs but it did not include the rear CV. I did see a very good write up of a C5 Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement. The CV size there was 34 MM but our C6 is 33MM . This article states that for the C5 the torque is 135 ft lbs. and that seems high. When I loosened mine it sure did not seem that tight.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you talking about the rear axle nut?

On a c5 that torque is 118#'s.

Would it be the "Rear Drive Shaft Spindle Nut"? If so, 118ft-lbs.

Thanks for the response Jody.
I think your rear axle nut may not be the same size as our 33MM for the
C6 but the torque would be very near. Funny how mine loosened up to around 60 ft lbs. over the past 4 years. But I'll definately tighten these up before I am on the track

I had to change the right rear hub/bearing assembly Friday. To get it loose I had to use a 2' breaker bar along with a 3' cheater pipe. It was on so tight I didn't think it'd ever let go, it was far in excess of #118. And I know when I installed the old bearing last year, it was torqued to #118.

How these things tighten up on their own is beyond me.
