Default Anyone tracking TSW Nurburing?

I am thinking about getting a spare set of 5 wheels and R888 in 18" 285 for my C5 corvette for track use.

Anyone has ever tracked the TSW Nurburing? I'd be interested to have any feedback about them.

Thanks.

I have a set of 18x10.5 all around with Toyo R888s. Only been out a couple of times.

Fine so far. No issues. They seem light and strong.

Not sure, but they seem equivalent to the OEM ZO6 rears, or about 23 pounds. These are 18x10.5, of course.

The exact weight must be on line somewhere. One of the forum vendors (Speed Depot?) sells them and should know.

Rotary forged wheels of Chinese origin are not the best idea if you run R compound tires. Might be ok on street tires.

I have had mine a couple years and used for about 10 HPDE's. No problems at all. I run the 18x10.5 all the way around. I used Continental tires and Toyos R888, and again no issue other than the Conti's just mount a little wierd. They don't come all the way the the edge of the wheel. No issues but you just have to watch with these tires as the rims can get scuffed up.

If you wanna run 17s, please be aware the TSWs only come in at 17x9. Houseofwheels is selling new OEM Z06 wheels in both 18s and 17s for 225/each. Seems like a better option for track use.

Would 17x9 not allow me 285 tires?

Most tire manufacturers recommend a minimum width of 9.5" for a 285 tire with a nominal wheel width of 10" for that size tire.

That being said, I don't think the R888 comes as a 285 in 17" in diameter.

The 275 they offer has a min wheel width of 9.0" with a nominal width of 9.5"

The real question is why would you want to run the narrower wheel. You will improve the contact patch by running the nominal wheel width.

The width of the tires is a big debate, especially in a wet country.

I've had a set of 19s and 20s on with very low profile tires 25s and 30s on the streets of Washington DC for almost 2 years now. Car is slammed with 600 pound springs on a coilover setup. I've hit no less than 30 potholes of every size and never an issue. Love these wheels. Look good, strong and light.

What size of tire are you using?
Any "rubbering" issue with the front wheels?
Did you use a special steering pump to cope with the extra front wheel size?

Thanks.

Yup ran 18x10.5 all around.

Great wheels. Light, strong and affordable. Theyre still being used by the new owner.

Yes they are.

I also run both types but prefer the look of the Interlagos. Work great. 18"x10.5"

I run 275, 285 or 315 square on that size wheel.
275 and 285's work the best but a 315 fits without much issue.

All are Hoosier A6's
