Default WOW! Micro cameras for cheap....

I had ordered this #11 camera a few weeks ago, and it arrived yesterday.

Information.

It is everything they said it was.

It's small, light and can fit about anywhere. I plan on putting it in the fender well to video suspension movement. Put it on the splitter to get the low down view. Put it on the rear of the car, in the foot well to video the pedals.

The quality of the video is outstanding.

The possibilities are endless and the price is only ~$30.

I bought one last year and was initially impressed, but it crapped out after only one weekend.

I stuck it on the back of the car down low and got some really cool video.
The quality suffered after uploading due to my crappy computer. Here's a sample.

Did you check if it works well in low-light conditions, i.e. in the footwell etc.?

Actually Jody, I think mine is different than the one you have.
I'll see if I can find out which one it is to be sure. The other thing I didn't care for was that it took a really tight shot which made interior shots virtually impossible.

Go to the link and look at the video done with the old camera and the one with the new one, the field of vision is significantly wider with the new one.

I'll test some foot well shots this evening to see how it does under those lighting conditions.

But it it just stays put on the splitter for some low down video I'll be happy.

It was only $35, so it's not a big loss if it falls apart.

A small piece of Velcro attaches it. It's so light the Velcro should hold it securely.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been wanting to run a dash cam while daily driving. If you ever have someone cut you off and slam on the brakes it could save you from being at fault. It's cool that it will run off the car charger so you can record hours on it with the right size memory card.

Looks like you have to be careful to buy the #11 version and not the #3. Lots of both on fleabay.

I just checked and mine is an M80 model.
I plan on trying to fire it back up soon.

I had the older version. It was hard to tell if it was actually recording and half the time it wasnt. It also didn't do well in low light or changes in lighting. Let us know how the newer ones do.

Just to follow up I bought a couple of these to play with. I bought a #3 and a #11. Both have the camera heads tilted a little but you can angle them to compensate. The controls work different on both and I like the way the #11 works best.

I got a #3 off Amazon for under $8 and a compatible 8gb micro SD card for under $4. This is the model that claims to record in 640x480 avi format. I could not get the time and date stamp to reset so it always reads incorrect. Video isn't too bad but not as good as the #11 camera. I ended up giving this to a guy that works for me to play with on his RC helicopter. It has survived a few crashes and still works so far.

I bought a #11 with the car charger and two usb cords off that auction site for $32. This is the one that claims it records in 720P. It looks pretty fuzzy if you try to play it back in full screen so I doubt the 720P claim. At normal you tube and facebook sizes it is very clear. I have compared some autocross footage from my #11 to that of some Gopro footage from the same event and I believe the #11 video to be a little clearer. Have run it for hours on the dash of my truck, done some outside footage on a suction cup mount on the door, and some incar shooting out the windshield at autox Gs. It has not failed yet. I actually screwed this one up a bit trying to straighten the camera head. I slipped with a scribe and raked it across the lens and left a mark I can see but after I got it back focused you can't tell the lens is scratched in the videos. I will probably buy more of these. Most of the #11 cameras are being shipped with the time and date stamp disabled.
