When I went to Laugna Seca 3 months ago, I wired the baffles closed. I have the modded mufflers and knew it was too loud with 98db. I know they have different limits with different events, but with H.O.D. the limit was 92 db. It did seem that a few cars were louder than 92 db and nobody was black flagged.

How its measured has a lot to do with it. If its 6' from the end of the pipe they wont be able to mow the grass. If its behind pit wall.... The local short track here was built in 1948 Now we have a housing development near buy and a budget for noise litigation. There lawn mowers and air conditioners cause about 5X the noise in their neighborhood. Exhaust pipe termination has a big effect on perceived noise. If you can swap a cat back on for track day use that dumps with turn downs near the rear diff it should help a lot. For stop n go traffic, maby not.
ed Sorry bout the dup post

You should be fine although you may need to keep the baffles closed. On some days, due to weather, sounds will register higher. But typically, a stock C6 Z06 will pass.
Sound is measured in the hut to the right side of the track between turns 5 & 6 -- an uphill climb. You can see it on most videos. Short shifting or letting off the gas will allow most street cars to pass. Others have created an LS exhaust that directs the sound down and to the left to be able to remain at full throttle.
Have fun out there.

Charley, you'll be just fine. I drove L-S twice in the last couple months; '12 GS w/ stock LS3, 6spd & NPP with the exh flaps wide open the entire time & had no noise violations whatsoever.
There was an LS2 with Z06 headers & really loud BB Fusions & he just backed off the gas after T5 & I don't think they gave him any violations either. Have fun!
