We have experience with a lot of different seats in tin-tops. The Suzuka is THE BEST. For those who may not know, these are made from carbon fiber, and that is a great price!

Whats the difference in the suzuka and the suzuka pro? I've sat in a pro and loved it, if there isn't a major difference in them I might be interested. I'm just under 6ft and weigh 135lbs, that skinny enough to fit?

Actually they are made from Kevlar. The carbon fiber version is twice the cost. (Cobra calls it Technology.)

You guys are good!
I am 6' tall. When I was running a lot, I weighed in at 190, with a 34" waist, and I prefered the fit of the regular (not wider) Suzuka. On the track, one wants to feel PLANTED in that seat.
SO, I guess we have a question: Is this one made from kevlar or CF? Actually, either way, these are great seats, and this is a great price.
[EDIT]: I did have to remove the bottom-most cushion so my helmet cleared the cage bars.

I was told it if it is out, it would have to have a extra brace for NASA

I am not trying to sharp-shoot anyone. Just digging for what is CORRECT.

You need FIA and the seat has to be "young" enough not to need a seat brace. So yes, the date of mfg matters.
The cost of a seat brace is relatively minimal, but older seats often take a hit in pricing when sold used.
I have a Suzuka (smaller) and love it. Great for the 10+ hour drives out to Mid-O and everything in btw. Of course, great on the track as well. Zero complaints. I can't say that about too many things on the car.

FIA spec's a 10 year lifespan on the seats (per the below - the 8855-1999 spec seat life is 5 years). I am not sure what the back-up research on that is. Seems like an arbitrary round number for both, my guess is they are worried about fatigue/misc wear on the composites. Helmets are lifetimed too and they have a similar composite construction.
