Cost Effective Wheels for Square Set-up
I've been looking for cost effecive wheels for a square set-up for a C5 without much success. What I'd really like is a set of 17"x11". I can find cost effective replica C4 ZR1 wheels in the right width and diameter, but the +offset is either 38mm (7.00" backspacing) or 50mm (7.47" backspacing). I think to fit 11" wheels on the front, the +offset needs to be around 70mm (8.26" backspacing"). Are there any cost effective sources for 17"x11" wheels with higher +offset?
If I can't find any cost effective 17"x11" wheels, I would consider other options such as 18"x10.5", 17"x10.5" or 18"x11". With 10.5" in the front, I'm guessing I could get away with less +offset, like 60-65mm.

I am going to have my oem c5Z06 wheels for sale pretty quick, 18X10.5 front and 18"x11.5" that have been widened 1" I have been running 305 all around, powered coated black in great shape

The stock Z06 wheels from the rear work front and rear just fine. You can fit a 315 18 on there too with only mild rubbing on brake ducts lock to lock. We have been running 315's on 10" wheels up front and 315's on 11" wheels rear in T1 racing with no problems. 305's would be cake.

I ran 17x11 aftermarket C4 Grandsport wheels on all 4 corners on my C5Z. Just make sure they are Corvette Style wheels Vs Camaro style. The Camaro style wheels recess the lug nuts into the wheel by building up the wheel center while the Corvette style have a deep dish center which makes it easier getting the lug nuts on and off.

The stock Z06 wheels from the rear work front and rear just fine. You can fit a 315 18 on there too with only mild rubbing on brake ducts lock to lock. We have been running 315's on 10" wheels up front and 315's on 11" wheels rear in T1 racing with no problems. 305's would be cake.
I don't know if it's true or not, but I've read if wide tires are mounted on a narrower wheel, the road contact area won't be any better than an appropriately sized tire.

How about aftermarket C5 Z06 wheels? OEM Z06 are 58mm while aftermarket are 54mm. I don't see OEM Z06 wheels for sale on ebay often.

I really should keep them, but they don't clear my new front Brembos Every time I put my slicks on I can't believe how light the combo is with Pirelli slicks. 800.00 for the set which is a deal in my opinion is 400.00 to get the rears widened

I believe so. Check the specs on the C4 Grandsport wheel. I believe C4 ZR1 wheels were 36mm offset and they will stick out of the rear wheel wells close to an inch Vs the half inch of the GS wheels. Most manufacturers like AFS know the difference between C4ZR1 offset and C4GS offset. When the C5 first came out C4 GS wheels were the ones recognized by the racing organizations as acceptable for T1, etc.
Here are pictures of the wheels mounted on my C5Z. First picture is of a 17x11 GS offset wheel from AFS that I purchased in 00. Notice the deep inset of the center section and how the lug nuts are accessible. The second picture shows a set of wheels I purchased 6 years later from a forum member. They were 17x11 GS offset wheels but had the Camaro style center section which doesn't give the access to the lug nuts. Remaining pictures show how they looked on the car. If you accidentally get the ZR1 offset wheels you will definitely notice as your car will look like one of those cars that some people like to put reverse rims on that make the tires stick out way beyond the fenders.
With Kumho 710s mounted on the wheels the car would really corner. First time I ran the wide rims on the front I found out the inner wheel edge would come in contact with the lower control arm on sharp turns in the paddock area and would strip any wheel weights clamped to the edge off the wheel. I noticed several wheel weights at the entrance to the garage bay I was in at the Glen and wondered where they came from and the next session I found out.
I went away from this setup in 09 because it was hard finding used Kumho's with one or two heat cycles because the T1 guys had started using the A6 which don't last long in an HPDE environment. With the Kumho's I could get close to a season of autocrossing and HPDE events out of one used set.

tb30570, I saw you sent me a PM so I'll answer you here. I was wrong about the offset on my rims they are 50mm offset. I run 315 on all 4 corners with 17x11 GS rims. I do have a little inner fender well rubbing at full lock to the left but nothing to the right. The fronts do stick out about 1 to 1.5 inches not enough for me to worry about. I'm running -2 deg camber on the front I think there might be a problem with the tire rubbing the top of the fender at full compression if you run less camber. I ran the Weatherly hillclimb last weekend and had rubbing at the top of the front. But Weatherly turn 5 is called the jump for a good reason you will have all 4 tires off the ground some times by 1 to 2 feet. that was the only place the front was rubbing the fender. If your just doing autox I don't think you will have much of a problem.

You will likely not find them cheaper than that.
