I think i just made a deal on a very nicely prepped ZO6.. i truly hope this is an enjoyable exp. .. I have owned and driven over 25 Porsches from Gt3 cups to gt2's .. ford Gt's to 430's .. currently runing a sub 2 min M3 @ VIR..
I just hope thus car has the feel and balance of the cars i have driven... no I've never driven a Corvette.. but damn they look fun!!!!
wish me luck!

Welcome to the Corvette wave. What year Z06? Track only or dual-purpose? What level of prep?
Seeing how you have an M3 you may be familiar with the screen name "joeNationwide" from bimmerforums.com. He races a BMW and instructs at DEs. Last year he drove a student's C5 Z06 and loved it so much he went out and bought one. Haven't heard an update of how he's doing with it though.
I have another good buddy who is a long time E36 M3 fan. He drove my Vette and loved it and went out and bought a C5 Z06. Used it for one season, sold it and went back to an M3. Said he missed the "feel" of the M3.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

VIR Sub 2m in an M3? that is well set up M3. Most M3s are in the 2:10 down to 2:07 range
well driven Stock C5Z with T1 suspension and hoosier As are in the 2:07 to 2:05 range.
very few Sub 2:00 C5Zs unless there is a full aero package race prep set up. but still far and few. Wally, Danny and ??

I was there for the Porsche Club race in the Summer of 2010 and I saw an M3 that is close with my own eyes. He obviously wasn't racing but he was in the DE and I saw him get by one of our members who is a great driver in a well prepared C6Z06 and was turning 2:02's as I recall. Took him awhile to get past so sub 2 maybe not but possibly on a flyer without much traffic. I am sure there are a few out there but I haven't seen very many that are really fast either.
Mike Skeen drover her on wet track on slicks 2:04's lol
has a few things done to her though

Even the DE was fun to watch. Your BMW made it pretty entertaining. It was cool to watch just to see if you could get by the Vettes. I think the quickest car there was a black C6Z06 with aero who was sub 2. You were second quick as I recall.
And I forgot, welcome to the Corvette community. I love them and am very pleased to have one now. I think you will like them also. They work very well and require you to dip into your bag of skills to make them go really fast. It's not like driving a sewing machine like many of today's modern cars have become.

Yep that was the weekend. Musante won the whole thing running 57's in his 73' 911 beating the French guy in his 997 Cup who as I recall had some contact with lapped traffic. That was a fun weekend albeit too hot for me.

Safety Car
Matt is this a C6 Z06 LS7 car or a C5Z06 LS6 car? If it's an LS7 you will want to look into replacing the factory "dry sump" with a proper racing system. They can still have oiling issues with heavy track use. The LS6 can handle track use w/o a dry-sump just fine.

Hey Matt,
Welcome to the Vette community.
Is this the same C6-Z that the fellow up in Northern Virginia had done by LG? Seems the car was red. He had a GT3, also. Or is this one you had done.
Again, welcome!
