Yes, it was an older tire - A3S05
-stored in my climate controlled (no windows) basement for years

Everyone be careful out there.

Glad I got it slowed down on the beginning of the back straight and not the end of it.....

damn those as or rs tires havent been made for a long time have they?

You are lucky, IMO race tires are intentionally less robust in construction than street & also do not age well.

My rules are:

No patch/plug

Not more than 24 months old give/take a few

No cord showing (just kidding)

Durometer not more than 10 points higher than when new.

If they don't pass they are autox tires.

Glad you are ok & that it was not more expensive and/or injurious to you & good post, we all need these reminders every so often.
