Default A&A Corvette Autocross videos. 6/30 7/1/2012.

Saturday's practice didn't go so well. I went 6 laps before the motor developed some kind of knocking noise. This track was fair at best. It did have a few fun sections. One of the best drivers in the nation was their, and I wanted him to drive my car. The last time he drove it, was about a year ago. This will let me know how good my car is and me as a driver. I knew it wouldn't be good for me, unless I take this as a learning experience. Off he goes and beats me by .4 with just one lap. I had 6 laps. Plus he's not use to my car. What can I say.
Me. 4th. overall out of 95 cars.

Him. 3rd. overall out of 95 cars.

Sunday I raced in Super Stock in the 2004 Corvette Z06.
Had some nice runs. 1st. in class. About 14th. overall out of 150 cars.

thanks for watching.

Blazing runs by both of you! It looks like he found .4 by shifting to 2nd earlier and he was carrying more speed through the slalom (at your 1:05 and his 1:30) and the right hander before the finish.
He sounded impressed with the car. Good job on all of the tuning you've done. If you ever want to see what one of the worst drivers in the nation thinks about it, lemme know and I'll fly over and codrive with you.

In your videos I can never tell when your driving. I'm sorry, but I don't know your name. The car is getting much better. I'm always fighting for the right balance. Just as I think I'm close, the next time it's way off. Looks to me, I have to adjust it every time out.

This one had to many zig zags. Other then those 4 spots it was okay. I've been spoiled to many times.

Steve A.

This picture was from another event.

Awesome runs to be able to go neck and neck with nation's best!
Maybe hitting the rev limiter so much broke something?
Hope it wasn't the timing chain that I'm in the shop for.

Can't wait to try out autocross in the BRZ, but it's still so shiny and new, lol...

Hope your car is fixed by the next event and gratz on the SS win.

My name is Dan. My codriver is faster than me in my own car too. He's picking up a stock '02 Z06 this weekend. I'm hoping to get some seat time in that. I haven't made any adjustments to mine in a while. I'm still shaving significant time off of each run, so really no need to.
No splitter or vented hood yet. Just SA coilovers, bars, huge DE wing set at max AOA and 315x4 or 315/335s on 10.5 & 12" wheels. I might adjust air pressure, but that's about it.
You've seen how our courses are though. Nothing like the ones you get to play on. There's no way I could keep both hands on the wheel like you do.

Happy 4th!

Thanks Q. My car seems to be hitting the rev-limiter a lot lately. Maybe I need to change the diff. gearing. It will be fixed soon.

Your course are pretty small. I doubt the Splitter will work on your courses. That might be just to slow. I even have doubts on mine. The wing is another story. It works for sure. Keep that co-driver around and learn everything you can from him. You can turn the steering wheel just past half without taking your hands off. Any more and you'll have to re-position.
See you at the next race/ video.

Steve,

Do you drive the car to the events. If so, any issues with the splitter scaping in driveways, etc.

Thanks,
John

I drive to the events, but I put the Splitter in the car. Install when I get there. A real pain. There's no way you could drive with it. I think it's around 2" off the ground, plus it sticks out 6" from the bumper.

Both drivers hauling ***... nice vids.

It seems like Brian got on the power a bit sooner for some corners, and didn't slide the car as much. That might be .4 right there.
