Autocross alignment recomendations
I have an 08 that gets about 3k street miles a year and a monthly autcross session. I put on Michelin PS2 ZP's. The RF chunked the outside edge and the others are wearing hard on the outsde edge. I still have 80% of the tread. It was within the factory alingment specs a year ago.
I found the PFADT alignment recomendations. I was wanting to hear any comments on the Preformance Street settings vs. the Preformance Street- Track Use with Street Tires setting.
Pics are up in the C6 General section under Michelin PS2 ZP Blistering ????
Now I know the proper term in chunking.
Thanks for any info......

Well, what are your tire pressures?
what are the alignment specs you're using?
the C5Z isn't all THAT much different and I'm running A6s and not a street tire, so they might differ a bit, but here's what I use.
F: 2.1 neg camber and 1/16 - 1/8 total toe OUT
R: 1.1-1.2 neg camber and a little under 1/8 toe IN.
Again, not sure if running street tires would alter that much, but between the camber you're running and tire pressures are my guess as why the OUTSIDE of the tires are chunking.
hope that helps.
I'll add that I run the car about 5-10K miles a year and do about 15-18 autocrosses a year.

I start at 30 in the morning and leave it alone. The pressures get up to 35 or so. I know the alingment was within Chevy specs but I don't know what the settings are.

Like I said, I would get some more camber up front at the very least. I wouldn't mess with the toe too much as that would affect the tires in the opposite way as they are now.
Pressures are definately low in my opinion. I'd be starting them @ 35.
good way to check is get some sidewalk chalk and mark the edges of the tires ( 3 or 4 spots ) and see how much disappears thru the event. That will help see how much roll over you're getting on the tires. If they're not rolling much the chalk will be there and you know the PSI is in the right range.
You can leave the rears a little lower if the back end is sliding around some.
hope that helps some.
